Learn how to be a responsible seller and server of alcohol. Texas restaurants, retailers and other venues whose staff sells or serves alcohol will gain the required knowledge and insight into the specific laws regulating sale or service of alcoholic beverages.

Although not required by law completing the TABC (The Texas Alcohol & Beverage Commission) certification is important for a responsibly focused server or seller of alcohol and most often a condition of employment.

WHAT YOU LEARN
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to effectively:

• Define terms used in this course
• Describe the purpose, goals, and rules for seller-server training and certification
• Identify the seller-server’s role for enhancing public safety
• Check IDs accurately, and spot clues for when an individual is using a fake ID
• Use observations to detect that a minor is attempting to purchase alcohol.
• Recognize second-party sales
• Describe how seller-servers are responsible for the acts of their customers (Dram Shop Act).
• Recognize intoxicated individuals
• Define blood alcohol concentration and how it is calculated
• List factors that affect Blood Alcohol Level (BAC) in individuals
• Describe the effects of mixing alcohol with other drugs
• Refuse a sale to someone with little conflict
• Seller-server’s responsibilities and obligations under the Texas law for preventing
  alcohol sales to minors, intoxicated persons, and non-members of a private club

THE QUIZ
Passing each quiz with a minimum of 80% and you proceed to the next lesson.

THE EXAM
Passing with 70% or higher on the final exam and you will receive TABC Seller-Server Certificate.

On this course, you can set your own pace. You will have 2 attempts to pass the exam. If you fail both tries, the course will start you at the beginning again.
